Launched in Hamburg in 2003
Hamburg has always been a city of commerce. Transactions which once took place almost exclusively on the city's waterways (via a handshake in the heyday of the Hanseatic League), now involve long 'virtual rivers' and are accomplished with one mouse click, and the last decade has seen consistently strong e-commerce annual revenues.
The core business idea was to persuade businesses and manufacturers to streamline the number of processes involved in transactions between retailers and end users via the Internet. In the early years, the company focused on the marketing of excess inventories and remnants via online marketplaces. Then from 2006 onwards, Hatraco became a full-service agency offering business partners a complete e-commerce package; including the operation of online brand stores on behalf of manufacturers.
Since its launch in 2003, Hatraco has grown continuously without the support of investment capital. Now, as then, Hatraco is led by its founders and currently employs 60 people. Our clients include a number of prestigious, well-known companies for whom we handle the entire e-commerce process, thus avoiding the co-ordination of complex supply chains.
